We spent three days touring both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, visiting famous sites such as the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque and the Burj Khalifa.

A Visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi
This magnificent mosque attracts worshippers and visitors of all faiths, and is one of the most beautiful mosques we have visited in the world.
Top Experiences in the UAE
Burj Khalifa. The tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa towers 163 stories above Dubai, and is a must-see while on a trip to the UAE. For the best experience, visit the viewing platform at sunset, and enjoy looking down on Dubai as the city lights up for the night.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. With its stunning Islamic architecture and cultural significance, the UAE’s largest mosque attracts worshippers and visitors of all faiths. Marvel at its glistening white domes, beautiful marble courtyard, and awe-inspiring prayer hall lit by one of the world’s largest chandeliers.
Burj al Arab. This luxury 7-star hotel, known to be one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, is iconic for its sail-shaped design and beachfront location. Visitors not staying here can sign up for one of their tours for a peek inside.
Desert Safari. Head into the Arabian Desert for adventures such as dune bashing: a thrilling experience where a 4×4 is driven up and over sand dunes. Other desert adventures include sandboarding, ATV rides, dune buggy tours, and camel rides. Cap off your day by watching the sunset at a Bedouin-style camp.
Shopping Malls. The United Arab Emirates is home to some of the largest and most impressive shopping malls in the world. These malls are not just for shopping and dining. The Dubai Mall features an indoor roller coaster, and the Mall of the Emirates includes an indoor ski slope.
Golden Cappuccinos. At the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, sip on a creatively designed cappuccino sprinkled with edible 24 carat gold flakes.
Swim in the Arabian Gulf. Relax at one of the many beaches, featuring white sands, turquoise waters, and beachfront restaurants and bars.
Yas Island. This man-made island in Abu Dhabi is home to both thrill-seeking and leisure activities. Feel an adrenaline rush at one of four theme parks, including a water park and a park with the world’s fastest roller coaster (Ferrari World). For a leisurely afternoon, unwind at a beach, the fancy harbor, or at one of the many waterfront restaurants and bars.
Louvre Abu Dhabi. This modern art museum, in partnership with the Louvre in Paris, features striking architecture and exhibits from ancient history up to contemporary works.
Hatta. Take a trip to the mountain town of Hatta as an escape from the bustling city life. The beautiful blue waters at Hatta Dam with its dramatic jagged mountain backdrop is a great place to go kayaking or paddleboarding. Head out on an adventure like hiking or mountain biking, and be sure to visit the Hatta Heritage Village and the Honeybee Garden.
Al Ain Adventure. This is a fun adventure escape for families, with plenty of water-based activities such as surfing, white-water rafting, and kayaking.
When To Visit the UAE
The United Arab Emirates has a hot, arid climate with plenty of sun. Monthly average temperatures do vary throughout the year, so you can avoid the harsh heat if you plan well.
The best time to visit the United Arab Emirates is from late-fall into early-Spring, from November to March. Temperatures will be much more pleasant with highs around 28°C (82°F) and plenty of sun. This is a great time of year for outdoor activities such as visiting the beaches and exploring the Arabian Desert.
Braving the sweltering heat of the summer months does come with fewer tourists and cheaper hotel fares. Plan more indoor activities this time of year as you will likely work up a sweat just standing outside.
