When To Visit the US Virgin Islands
Because of its tropical location, the Virgin Islands are warm year-round. The average low and high temperatures range from the mid-70’s to low-80’s in the winter, and the low-80’s to the high-80’s in the summer. But there are a few other things to consider when planning a visit.
Hurricane season starts in June and runs through November with the peak activity typically occurring between mid-August and late October. Tropical storms and hurricanes can bring strong winds and heavy rains, which can cause disruptions in services. So, it is best to keep an eye on the weather and be prepared to change your travel plans accordingly.
Peak tourist season is during the winter, from December through March, since precipitation is lowest and temperatures remain warm. You will experience higher crowds and there is a chance you will also experience the northeast trade winds, called “Christmas Winds”.
For those seeking to strike a balance between weather and affordability, consider going in April and May.
